Oman equipment rental (OER) provides daily ,weekly ,monthly and long -term rentals as well as new and used equipment for sale.OER provides several services for customers and to 

support business requirements this services include:

  customer purchases used equipment -

 

   for renting equipment in a certain date a customer submits a reservation. When a reservation

 

request is received an employee must checks to see if customer has rented equipment before, if they have, then the database is checked to be sure that prior rentals were returned on time and undamaged.

If they have not, then the personal information ; like name , address, telephone and email is added to the customer list.

for each reservation, customer details such as customer name and contact information as well as item details such as equipment type (selected form an alphabetical list of type) requested pickup date requested return date and deposit amount are recorded.

 

When a customer rents a piece of equipment employee enters each equipment ID, check out date, return date and deposit into the system. For each piece of equipment the status changes form “in stock” to “rented” and the rental count for this item increments. Also the rental charge is calculated based on equipment type and rental period. Equipment can be rented only in full day increments.

 As each piece of equipment is returned the employee enters the current time/date as the return time. if the return date is later than the due date, a late fee charge is calculated and deducted from the rental deposit. The equipment status should be changed to “in stock” and the equipment is returned to the storage area.

OER offers equipment for sale to customers. The buyer does not have to customers. The buyer does not have to be in the customer table and on information about the buyer is recorded. Customer selects one or more items from the uses equipment section and indicates their selection to the employee. For each item the employee changes the status form “for sale” to “sold” and decrement the inventory count for this equipment count, calculates the charges and write a charges record for this item.

Q6- A collection of individual query scripts to execute as a minimum the following queries.

     Produce a list of customers showing their names, address and the equipment they are renting. Sort by names -

      Print a list of equipment that has not yet been returned by customers -

      Produce a list of equipment that sold in the current month -

      Design your test data so that at least 2 customers can rent the some equipment type. Create a query which would find customers who share the same equipment type -

      Give a list of customer names, telephone number, equipment name for those who should return their rented equipment on the current date-
