when i run the enterprise console there are two options to choose
1- Stand Alone
2- Managment Server

about stand alone there is no prblem but what i want to know is how i can connect to OMS and what the steps i need to do so. i read alot in books and the thing that i understand is first i have to make repository so i make one but i can not connect to OMS so my questions are:

1- What is OMS
2- How i can connect to it
3- what is the repository for.

i am working as DBA i am now designing Database systems for a company, so all the work i did in stand alone, so do i need OMS or not.....

أخى قم بالدخول على Enterprise manager configuration assistant
ثم قم بعمل repository جديد وإتبع تعليمات الwizard
قم بالدخول ل OMS بالمستخدم SYSMAN وكلمة السر OEM_TEMP

واتبع هذا الشرح الذى تفضل بتقديمه أخونا mojtaba

متأسف على التأخير في الرد ، وزيادة على ماتفضل به أخي وليد ، إذا كنت تعمل مدير قاعدة بيانات ستحتاج إلى OEM لعمل جميع مهام ال DBA وخصوصا في موضوع ال PERFORMANCE & TUNEING وال BACKUP & RECOVERY وإذا بحثت ستجد الكثير من المهام التي يستطيع هذا البرنامج القيام بها وستستفيد كثيراً من التعليمات المرفقة به.
بالنسبة لل repository

A repository is a set of tables in a database containing state information for the managed environment. The repository is created when you set up an Oracle Management Server in Oracle Enterprise Manager. The repository tables can be installed in any database accessible to the Oracle Management Server.
