ما هو الفرق الجوهري بين الـ placeholders and formulas ؟

 

من اللي قريته عنهم , عرفت ان الاتنين ممكن يتعمل بيهم نفس الحاجة ؟

حد يعرف اختلاف حقيقي بينهم ؟

إليك شرح تفصيلي:

Placeholder
The Place holder column is the column where we can define the global variable and this variable is used in the Formula columns for different calculations. palce holder column is a report global variable.

A placeholder is a column for which you set the datatype and value in PL/SQL that you define.

You can set the value of a placeholder column in the following places:

01.The Before Report Trigger, if the placeholder is a report-level column

02.A report-level formula column, if the placeholder is a report-level column

03.A formula in the placeholder's group or a group below it (the value is set once for each record of the group) 

if we want return more than one value based on our logic we will use place holedr column in formula column.

Formula column
The formula column is used for the calculation of the required logic for the report. formula column will calculate value based on our logic it will return one value.
A formula column performs a user-defined computation on another column(s) data, including placeholder columns.Formula colums should not be used to set the values for parameters.

الموضوع ابسط من كده

ال placeholder بياخد القيمه بتاعته من اى فنكشن او ترجر او اى مكان
عكس الفورميولا قيمته بترجع من الفنكشن بتاعته

باختصار لكل فورميولا لازم يكون فيه فنكشن بتريتيرن القيمه بتاعته
بينما placeholder مش لازم يكون له فنكشن لأن قيمته بترجع من نفسه او من اى كود تانى
