I am trying to make physical copy of production datafiles but unfortunately i have to shutdown the database which is not an option , Please if any of you guys have an idea about making a copy without shutdown the database i will be appreciated if you share it

i found way to do that by running the tablespaces into backup mode :


SELECT 'ALTER TABLESPACE '||TABLESPACE_NAME||' BEGIN BACKUP'; FROM DBA_TABLESPACES

after running the above copy the datafiles

what if data changed during the tablspce on backup mode, what happens when we turn the tablespce to normal mode (end backup) will the changes will be lost, if no does the backup mode hold up alot of changes of limited size?

شغل archive log بس ساعتها هتضطر انك تعمل رستارت للداتابيز لتفعيل التغيير وهذا يتم فقط مره واحده
وتقدر بعدها تستخدم RMAN فى اخذ النسخ الاحتياطيه اللى تحبها من Full + Incremental + Differential
