    Yes, you can "hide" tables behind a view or just by not granting anyone else access to them (of course you'll be able to see them but others won't).



    The only way to see the hidden tables behind a view or without explicit permissions is to have been granted the DBA role or SELECT ANY TABLE or SELECT on DBA_TABLES (probably some others I'm forgetting here), then you can query those views and find the OWNER.TABLE_NAME

    NOTE: for information there is no way to hide a table from the SYS user.
