Al salam aleekom,

I'm trying to retrieve data from an ORACLE database with character encoding US7ASCII, the problem is that I'm getting some rubbish when I'm trying to display this data which is in Arabic language. Is there anyway to read/display/convert this data without destroying the data ??

    جرب تغيير NLS_LANG
    إلي AMERICAN_AMERICA.AR8MSAWIN
    إذا كنت تستخدم WINDOWS
    في ال regedit

    أما إذا كنت تستخدم نظام التشغيل UNIX
    أكتب الآتي في ملف ال
    .profile in the oracle user
    NLS_LAN=AMERICAN_AMERICA.AR8MSAWIN
    export NLS_LANG

    mo3az4islam you need to know the charset that the data was originaly created with in order to retrive them properly
