I have Unix server(master) has Oracle10g database ,
we bring a new Windows server(slave) with Oracle10g version too,
and does not has any database structure or data.

The final aim is: I need to keep the slave server to be synchronized with master server

how can i copy my database(structure and data) from the master to the slave
and when the master is currently updating.

Can The Advanced Replication do that??
Is There Any Replication Type that deal with different Operating Systems?
If Yes ...please how can i do that

to keep 2 databases on 2 different operating systems synchronized with data you have only to install Advanced Replication between the 2 databases on specific database schemas.
but this will only copy data from the master to the slave databases (Insert,Update,Delete) only not DDL action like create table altr table ..... and also will not copy tablespaces.
is this what you need to do????

وآسف جدا على التأخير في الرد وذلك بسبب ظروف طارئة

مشكور جدا على استجابتك وكده انت طمنتي لأنه أجابني البعض بأنه لا يمكن عمل ذلك في وجود نظامين تشغيل مختلفين

- في قولك انه ينسخ البيانات فقط وليس جمل ال DLL.؟ هل المنشأ ة من قبل على السيرفر ، أم جمل DLL الجديدة لحظة عمل الاثنين معا..؟

يعني أنا أنشأت جدول من زمن سابق على الماستر ...وأريد أن أبدأ بتجهيز الslave ...سوف لا ينشأ هذا الجدول (القديم الانشاء) ام لا ينشأ ما يستجد من جداول جديدة بعد تشغيل الmaster و slave معا..؟؟؟

- أريد من حضرتك أو من أعضاء المنتدى الكريم تزويدي بكافة المعلومات الخاصة ب Advanced Replication من تعريفات عنه ، وطريقة الاعداد ، واذا يوجد له برنامج ، أو دليل استخدام؟

موضوع الReplication ليس بالسهولة بحيث ان يحتويه رد على مشاركة في المنتدى
هو موضوع كبيير ولازم فيه تركيز ومعرفة بالداتا بيس والجداول اللي هاتربليكيت مع بعضها وايه هو نوع الReplication اللي هاتستخدمه
على العموم انا الresource اللي عندي صعب اني ارفعها على المنتدى ,فاذا كنت عايزها ممكن ارسلهالك على الميل بعد ما تتركه في رد على المشاركة عشان ابعتلك عليه
كل عام وانتم بخير جميعا

hello hassan,

with Advanced Replication you can replicate tables,view,triggrs,functions and Procedures found in one schema to another schema on another database.

you can choose the tables,view ... you want to replicate.

if you installed Advanced Replication between 2 databases on some tables and after that you create a new table in the replicated schema by default it will not be replicated you need to add it manually.

if you altered a table that you replicated and added a new column, this alteration will not be replicated and you have to do it yourself.

only DML operations are replicated between tables.

any help you need in the Advanced Replication I'm ready to do.

الآن مثل ما حكيت من قبل عندي جاهز لينكس عليه القاعدة المركزية ، وجهاز آخر جديد عليه ويندوز نريد أن نعمل عليه Replication
- فكيف الخطوات؟
- يعني هل هي GUI أم هي أوامر SQL أم توجد أداة من أوراكل ؟
أيضا أكرر نفس طلبي لحضرتك أن تزودني بما تملك بمصادر للموضوع
