i want to make a trigger (when button pressed)
when i press the button , it puts the sysdate into a specific item , then commit the whole form so i could retrieve it later, note that time is needed in the date format


so when i use the to_Date function i can't get the time, unless i make the format mask property for the text item dd/mm/yyyy hh:mi ,then comes the second problem
the time always appears 12:00 pm



so if anybody could hep,i'll be grateful

SELECT TO_CHAR(SYSDATE,'DD/MM/YYYY HH24:MI[:SS]') INTO :char_Filed FROM DUAL

you must specify datetime datatype to ur field to save time with date
