I just want to know if we can get the last modified date of an image in a windows file system to the oracle database ; the images stored in file server ,via plsql and if so, how?

this is images is JPG stored in file server not DB server but i have table in other server contains the names and directory for each image in file server , and i don't want load images in DB as BLOB becouse i have that table as pointer for each image , but i want know what is modified date for each image without using FTP , but if FTP is the solution i will use it but how can i do it ?
