how are you ...hope all doing well...

i use Oracle 10g release 2 base on window XP pro

sometimes i gat error on the log file when i open the database ...as usual i archied the log and drop it and add it again by using the below comands

sql>alter database drop logfile 'c:\oracle........\redo01.log';

sql>alter database add logfile 'c:\oracle......\redo1.log' size 10 m;

even i tried to switch the log by using the comands

sql>alter system switch logfile;

but somtimes the oracle get hung with no reponse for the comand or taken a long time to reponse with

anybody can advise regarding the above

ممكن توضيح اكتر؟

why you drop the log files and add ?

فعلا لماذا قمت بحذف log file ؟؟؟ اذا كان هدفك عمل ارشفه للمحتوى log file ،، فهذا غير صحيح..

redlog هيا عبارة عن مكان يكتب عليه اللوج فقط !!! ليس اللوج نفسه ،،،

اذا اردت انت تعمل ارشفه لـ redo log فقعليك بتشغيل وضع archiving mode ،، وبعد ذلك تقوم بحفظ ثم مسح ملفات archive ليس redo ،، ولاتقترب ابدا من ملفات redo قاعدة البيانات شغالة.
