عندما اردت تنفيذ الامر التالي
select vac_balance from employees
as of timestamp to_timestamp('08-JUN-08 7:00:00','DD-MON-RR HH24: MI: SS'):
ظهر لي الخطا التالي
ORA-01555: snapshot too old: rollback segment number 4 with name "_SYSSMU4$" too small
ما هو هذا الخطاء وكيف يمكن حله

you need to increase the size of UNDO tablespace and the size of UNDO_RETENTION parameter

Dear r19782003

When a query needs a “snapshot” of data as of some time in
the past, and reconstructing that snapshot requires undo data that no longer exists, the query
returns the following error:
ORA-01555: snapshot too old

solution
1- Configure an appropriate undo retention interval
2-Size the undo tablespace properly
3-Consider guaranteeing undo retention

but this solutions helpful only before problem occur

لكن كيف تتم هذه الزيادة وهل يتم استعادة المعلومات السابقة بناء على الزيادة ام ان تاثيرها فقط يظهر على المعلومات بعد التعديل

go to undo_retention parameter
or use OEM
Or restart your DB
