dear friends
i downloaded oracle 8i and developer6i for linux recently. now i need to install them on my machine.the executable file extention is 'SH' not exe .
when i double click on the file setup.sh a message appear saying(do you want to open this file ?). and when i say ok the fileis open in a text editor . please help

In solaris we use ./setup.sh
try this command

i think it's nearby same to install oracle on all linux platforms but they are vary by the needed package or parameters
as mr. riadh we use ./setup.sh to run the setup
try to read the complete installation guise or try to check the articles in this forum about how to install oracle on linux platforms
