1-high availability : are solutions used to protect database against failure and to minimize db downtime and also for load balance they are many types like Real Application Cluster RAC ,Standby Database,Replication

2-RMAN re-reads the Oracle block till it gets a consistent image of it then backup this block
it only backup used blocks in the datafile not all the datafile
when restore you can restore only the corrupted datafile not the whole database

3-utlbstat/utlestat used to collect db and system statistics before oracle 9i
STATSPACK report is a new feature in Oracle 9i replaces the utlbstat/utlestat used before Oracle 9i
