Despite that Oracle Apps 11i works fine on IE7 on Windows XP , it does not work on Windows Vista ,,, I found an effective way to make it run smoothly as follows :

Environmet : Windows VISTA Ultimate
IE 7
Firefox 2.0.0.11
JInitiator 1.1.3.18/21
Sun JDK 1.6
Oracle Apps 11i ( 11.5.10.2 )

First adjust your hosts file to see Oracle instances exactly like on XP , start installing Jinitiator normally using IE7 , installation process will run OK 100% but Jinitiator itself will not run on IE7 ( it will hang after the successfull installation ) .

If you opened Firefox and run the application jinitiator will be invoked normally and apps will run very good on Vista.

To make Jinitiator runs on IE7 on Vista make the following workaround :
Install JDK 1.6 from Sun
After installation get the JVM.dll file from the JDK installation directory and overwrite the one in the Jinitiator directly.
Apps Will run on IE7 smoothly on Vista.

It is very important to know that this workaround is not certified form Oracle ,, Oracle only certifies running 11i apps on Vista through applying specific patch on Apps then work on Vista through the Sun's JDK 1.6 ,, My solution does not require applying any patch on Apps.

Apps are working ok with me for 3 weeks now.
