i cant access sql plus from client i get this error
ora-12547 lost contact

i can access sql from server

try to copy the sqlpnet.ora and the tnsnames.ora from the server to the client.

please check the files location in:
C:\oracle\product\10.1.0\Db_1\network\admin
is this the location that you get the files from ??
please attach the 2 files if yuou don't mind.

Dear brother
in the first try to check your tnsnames and yours sqlnet.ora
if its ok check your listener because its connect to client with yours database servers ,if its ok i think its problem that with operating system u can check the
services for your operating system
