i have a big problem please help me
i have got a new server
(Sun vx9800)
4 dual processors (1.8 ghz )
16 GB Ram
and fast raid storage with spead 15000 rpm
and some body installed the the oracle db10 g on solaries 10
and he have already travled and now i am transfering the data from the old server to the new server
the problem is the server is very slow during big transaction (inserting big tables
updating using cursors ) its slower than the very old server
i think i have to change some settings in the engine 10 g ( but i donnot now where and what i have to change and how ) please help me

you have to
1- gather database statistics
2- monitor sql statements
3- monitor sessions
4-monitor I/O
5- monitor wait events
to know where the problems that cause new server slower than the old one

i belive that you can use TOP command to check which process take the resources
