هذه العبارة تقوم بعمل تحليل إحصائي لبيانات الجدول employee ونتائج التحليل يتم وضعها في السطر الخاص بالجدول employee ضمن الجدول DBA_TABLES مثال ذلك عدد السطور يوضع ضمن العمود NUM_ROWS .
وأهم قيمة يتم الحصول عليها هي CHAIN_CNT أي عدد السطور الــ CHAINED
وهي السطور التي تحتوي قيماً ضخمة وبالتالي يتوزع السطر على أكثر من DB BLOCK
مما يؤدي لإضعاف الأداء العام لأن أوراكل يلزمه أكثر من دورة I/O واحدة للحصول على قيم السطر الواحد .
والقرار الذي يتخذ اعتماداً على هذه القيمة هو عمل MIGRATE للجدول إلى TABLESPACE أخرى يكون فيها حجم الـ DB BLOCK أكبر .
والمعلوم أن DB BLOCK هو من مضاعفات OS BLOCK .
