Openning Accounting Period Problem

we have problem in a request which we run from oracle application from the responsibility
general ledgre super user

this request is opening period
i run this request from 2 days and is still running till now with no result either it finishes the job nor stopes with error message

i want to know what may be the cause knowing the fact that this request usually doesn't take more than few minutes

please help me thanks
