Logical and physical standby dataguard ?

Physical Standby database is a synchronized copy of your production database on another server and it is kept in standby mode and it is used in time of failure of the production database it will be activated to be the primary database.
it is synchronized with the production database using archivelog files. both primary and standby database servers must have the same operating system,oracle version,oracle patching and hardware

Logical standby database is a copy of your database but at point in time and it is used for reporting use and testing
it is not necessary to have the primary and standby servers to have the same operating system ,hardware........

This means if i want replication i have to apply physical not logical.
