Practice: How you compute your GPA?


Grad Point Average (GPA) is an important part in assessing student's academic standing. GPA is a weighted mean of grade's points with weights being the credit hours of courses. The following table shows the grade's points:

Score Grade Course Grade Points

95-100 A+ Excellent Plus 5.00

90 to less than 95 A Excellent 4.75

85 to less than 90 B+ Very Good Plus 4.50

80 to less than 85 B Very Good 4.00

75 to less than 80 C+ Good Plus 3.50

70 to less than 75 C Good 3.00

65 to less than 70 D+ Pass Plus 2.50

60 to less than 65 D Pass 2.00

Less than 60 F Fail 1.00







Example 4.4:
The following represents the grads a student earned in all courses attempted during a specified academic term and the credit hours for each course:

Grade D D B A A+ C
Credit Hours 3 3 3 3 2 2
Compute the GPA for the specified academic term.

طريقة حساب المعدل الفصلي:
اضرب عدد ساعات كل مادة بعدد نقاط الدرجة التي حصلت عليها فيها.. اجمع الناتج ثم اقسمها على عدد الساعات الكلية
مثال: عدد الساعات الكلية = 12 ساعة
مادة رقم 1 = 4ساعات وحصلت على أ= 4(ساعة) * 4.75 (نقطة) = 19 نقطة
مادة رقم 2= 3ساعات وحصلت على ب = 3*4 = 12 نقطة
مادة رقم3= 3ساعات وحصلت على ب+= 3* 4.50 = 13.5 نقطة
مادة رق = 2 ساعة وحصلت على أ+ = 2*5 = 10 نقاط
مجموع النقاط = 54.5 اذا قسمته على عدد الساعات (12)
يكون الناتج: 4.54 من 5
وهذا هو المعدل الفصلي

طريقة حساب المعدل التراكمي:
اجمع جميع المعدلات الفصلية التي حصلت عليها ثم اقسمها على عددها
مثال: المعدل الفصلي لـ:
المستوى الأول: 4.5
المستوى الثاني: 3.75
المستوى الثالث: 4
المستوى الرابع: 3.5
المستوى الخامس : 4.85
الناتج الكلي = 20.6
فإذا قسمته على عدد المستويات (5) = 4.12 / 5

معلومة مهمة: بالنسبة للمعدل التراكمي:
4.50 - 5 =ممتاز
3.75 - أقل من 4.50 = جيد جدا
2.75 - أقل من 3.75 = جيد
2 - أقل من 2.75 = مقبول

معلومة أهم: لكي يتخرج الطالب عليه الحصول على معدل لا يقل عن 2 (قراتها خلف السجل الأكاديمي)[/b]
